Underwater Photo Shoot

underwater under water photo shoot makeup

I had the pleasure of doing makeup for this underwater photo shoot,
I already had a lot waterproof makeup in my kit, but purchased a waterproof foundation.
I'll break down the products used and let you know what worked
and what didn't!

*Kim Porter Cosmetics products used

MAC Face and Body Foundation
Dual Action Concealer*
Concealer Pot*
Creme & Powder Blush*
Invisible Blotting Powder*
Contour Duo*
Brow Definer*
Maybelline 24 Hour Tattoo creme eyeshadows in Bad to the Bronze and Tough as Taupe
Maybelline EyeStudio gel liner
Luxury Gloss*
L' Oreal Voluminous mascara
Ardell lashes and glue
Urban Decay All Nighter spray

Okay, so what definitely did not work was the "Waterproof" Ardell lash glue.
It lasted a whole ten minutes in the water!  I've used this glue for every false lash
I've ever applied so I know it works great, but it is definitely not meant for underwater.
I think the Urban Decay All Nighter spray is the clear winner,
you could actually see the water repelling from her face when she came up for air.
The MAC Face and Body Foundation was...eh...  the coverage wasn't great even after
I built it up like the sales person said, but it held up well.  But that may have been because of the setting spray.

The Maybelline products held up amazing as did the L' Oreal Voluminous mascara.
I didn't use a lot of face powder for fear of it washing off when she jumped in the pool,
but since we did some "dry" pictures first, I did give her a sweep of Invisible Blotting Powder
to set the creme products.

One point that I had read when doing research online is to go darker
with the foundation shade because being underwater washes the model out.
Over all I was really happy with the application and I think the pictures look amazing!
